Delete Your Account
Deleting your data and your account
There are two different things you might want to delete, and they are handled in different places. This page explains both.
1. The data the app holds
This is your notification registrations and everything the app has saved on your phone.
If you have the app
Open it, go to Settings, and choose "Delete your data". It will ask you to confirm, then remove everything and sign you out. This is immediate and it cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app
Email me at thetuneprojectbooking@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask me to delete your app data. I will do it and confirm when it is done, normally within a few days.
What this removes
-
Your notification registrations, on every device you have ever used the app on, so nothing can send to you again
-
The record of which notifications have already been sent to you
-
Everything saved on your phone: your downloaded sheet music, any recordings you have played, your saved library, your practice settings and your recently opened tunes
-
Your signed-in session
What this does not touch
Your membership and your purchases. Those live in the shop, not in the app, and deleting your app data does not affect them. You can sign back in at any time and your tunes will be there.
2. Your Tune Project account
This is your membership itself, and the purchases attached to it.
The app cannot delete this, and it is not meant to be able to. Your account belongs to the shop rather than to the app, so it has to be handled separately.
How to request it
Email me at thetuneprojectbooking@gmail.com from the address on your account, saying you would like your account deleted. I will confirm what will happen before I do anything irreversible, and then delete it. Normally within a few days.
What this removes
-
Your member account and your ability to sign in, on the website and in the app
-
Your contact details
-
Your app data as described above, if it has not already gone
Please read this part before asking
Deleting your account means losing access to every tune you have bought. The files stay bought, but there will be no account to sign in to and no way for the app or the website to show them to you. I cannot undo it afterwards, so I will always check with you first rather than acting on the first email.
If what you actually want is to stop receiving notifications, you do not need any of this. Turn them off in the app under Settings, or tell me and I will do it.
What is kept, and why
Records of sales have to be kept for a period set by tax and accounting law, so the order records behind your purchases are retained for that period even after your account is deleted. They are not used for anything else in the meantime, and they are deleted at the end of it.
Nothing else is kept.
How long it takes
App data deleted from inside the app goes immediately.
Anything you ask me to do by email, I will normally deal with within a few days and I will write back to confirm it is done.
If something is not working
Email thetuneprojectbooking@gmail.com and I will sort it out.
